We've been where you are
Our peer counseling volunteers and group facilitators complete our in-depth 14 session Basic Peer Counseling Training (BPCT), and participate in a small group (like Making Peace With Your Past) for personal growth and healing before talking with women who visit Abundant Joy CWM.
Step One: Complete application process. (Contact Lynn Trogdon, Center Director, firstname.lastname@example.org).
Step Two: Our 14-session training will equip you to serve as a peer counseling volunteer. This is required for anyone working with clients. You may miss up to two sessions (with makeup video sessions.)
Step Three: Attend a small group for personal healing (such as Making Peace with Your Past), ideally before attending peer counselor training. This may be completed before or after attending BPCT.
Step Four: Commit to serve at least 35 hours in the center in return for time invested in your training.
