Peer Counseling Training

Our peer counseling volunteers and group facilitators complete an in-depth 14 session Basic Peer Counseling Training (BPCT), and participate in a small group for personal growth and healing before talking with women who visit Abundant Joy CWM.

Characteristics of a volunteer include: 

• A follower of Jesus Christ
• A member of a local church
• A good listener 
• A regular participant in Bible study
• A woman who offers grace and non-judgmental care to all

While we are all in various stages of healing, a woman who is ready to serve as a counseling volunteer has experienced God's grace and healing and is willing to come alongside others.

Step One: Complete the application process.

Step Two: Continue your own healing process.

Participate in a small group at Abundant Joy CWM for your personal healing. 

Step Three: Attend BPCT. 

Attend our 14-session training which will equip you to serve as a peer counseling volunteer. Cost:  $45.00 

Step Four: Commit to serve.

Give back 35 hours within the first year in return for the time invested in your training.
